White "no snow" Christmas

Christmas morning we awoke to a very heavy frost, making everything a white wonderland. We walked through the woods behind our house enjoying the scene.

These photos seem black and white till you see the ruddy road and Bob's red coat.

This whiteness is not snow, but ice crystals from a heavy frost. It even sticks to the symbol on our old Mercedes station wagon.

A lot of homes in Germany have 1-3 Santas that hang from a rope outside a window. For some reason I get a kick out of this and added them to the ledge outside our son's room.

Christmas Day

While the grass has stayed green, baby Jesus was covered with frost this morning at our house.

We are all smiles in front of our lovely tree.
Our son makes a nice, tall elf
Bob made pancakes which we all enjoyed.

Merry Christmas!

Staff Christmas Party at our House

We hosted the staff Christmas party at our house this year.

The white elephant gift exhange garnered many laughs. These two both had their hands on this chocolate. They finally traded gifts at the end of the party.

Sometimes we were shocked at the trading and stealing.
It was all good natured fun!
The coveted gift of the night was a pair of antique golf clubs bought at a garage sale
It was well guarded by the receiver!
And it was taken away with flourish!

This couple had their anniversary on the day of our party. They wrote to us: Thank you so much for hosting our anniversary party! All the right friends were there and the food was fantastic!

Merry Christmas to all!
