On a dark and rainy day we drove through Belgium to the Christmas Market in Aachen, Germany. Yet the historic city charm and the beauty of Christmas warmed us.
Many booths are set up in the Market Square by the town Hall. People can Christmas shop for teddy bears, ornaments, cookies, and presents.
Our son enjoyed the food
The lights brighten even the most dismal drizzle.
The first part of the Aachen Cathedral was built around 800 AD. Charlemagne used it as his chapel. From this building, between 936-1531, 30 kings and 12 queens were annointed, crowned and enthroned on Charlemagne's throne here.
