Since my youth I have had an affinity for Monet paintings. So I jumped at the chance to go to Giverny, France with a couple of friends from my photography club. Monet was not from Giverny, but lived there the last half of his life and found great inspiration there in his gardens. He developed his water lilly garden here.
This is the house that Monet built.
There is a tunnel under the road that brings you to the water lilly gardens. For me, it was an emotional moment to arrive at the water lilly gardens, as I have loved those paintings for so many years.
