North Dakota/Minnesota Winter

On January 9th, 2007, I found myself on a plane from Frankfurt to Fargo, North Dakota. After a 6 month battle with cancer, my mother had peacefully gone to be with the Lord. Her burial was on January 12th in Minot, North Dakota. During our drive through this frozen tundra, the outdoor temperature went from 18 below up to a balmy 5 below at the graveside! It matched the cold in my heart at loosing this woman so dear to me. Yet I enjoyed going back to my roots... the land of ice and snow.

"Look at the kids playing in the snow!" My brother-in-law said. "Don't see any? That's because it's too COLD to play!"
Anatomy of Sledding. Head to top of hill.
Let's go!
Climb back up for more.
On your mark... Get set...
Taking off
Wipeout!
Running up the hill
Can't we go one more time?
Time to head home...
