Paris: The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is the most famous landmark of Paris. Built in 1889, it was the tallest building in the world until 1930.

The base of the tower is centered in a park. The bridge nearby has a carousel at the corner. The best view is from the Museum de Challot across the river.

Romantic story: At the top of the Eiffel tower, my husband pulled out a string of pearls. "You might think this was meant to be a romantic Valentine's Day weekend. Truthfully, we are here to mark 5 years since you finished treatment for breast cancer. I celebrate the fact that you are still with me. Now your chances of getting cancer again are statistically the same as everyone else. We choose to celebrate life!" I cried. What a guy.

We were fascinated with the inner works of the tower. Our favorite time was the walk from the top down.

The museum on the second floor told about the tower. Below a painter display. 50 tons of paint is used every 5 years.

We had the opportunity to stay at a hotel near here. The lounge where breakfast was served overlooked the tower.
