Mallorca: West Coast Cliffs

We begin this journey from the City of Palma and work our way up the rugged coastline.

The port of Andratx is near the SW tip.

There is only a small community at each port. Centuries ago, when pirates attacked, only the small port was destroyed.

The city of Andraxt is located several km inland like other towns on the coast.
From there we drive up to the Mirador de Ses Animes... an lookout tower built in the 1500s to look for Pirates.
On a clear day (which it wasn't) they say you can see all the way up and down the West Coast.

Looking to the South & North

You can see photos of the tower hovering over the cliffs in the "Best Of" blogs.
There are beautiful terraces with grape vines, oranges, tomato plants,
olive trees, and so on in the region.

Banyabufar is known for it's terraces.

Moving up from Banyabufar, one passes Valldemossa where you find a museum about Chopin. We then come to Deia, where the movie stars Michael Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones have a lovely home.

The next big stop is Soller.

http://www.andratxproperties.com/ We noticed a lot of British companies selling property and boats there.
